a little background

I hate for anyone to think that I have anything interesting to say or that there is anything interesting about me. I don’t look at it that way. Not to say that I don’t think it’s action-packed or uninteresting - it surely is.

First off, I have four girls, but they were not begotten in the traditional manner. The older three kids were acquired through a relationship merger and the fourth child was (pro)created the way that you are most familiar. The funny thing is, the three older kids look more like my biological daughters than the actual one - seeing as how she looks Caucasian and all.

Second, and this is tough to put on paper, I’m poor. Not like homeless poor or even will work-for-food-sign poor, but poor enough to know that I could (should?) be doing much better for myself. Most of the people that I grew up with are doing very well - well enough, that it makes me feel like a huge loser. I guess, statistically, that there has to be some below-average cats coming from private school. Unluckily, I’m one of them. But I’m don’t want this to be confused with complaining. I’m happy, for the most part. I think I’m doing pretty well keeping this family together. I’m just not able to buy Jordans or a Wii at will.

I’m trying to lose weight. You can kind of check out my progress on traineo, although I haven’t figured out the best way to faithfully keep logs of all of my exercising. I’m working on that. Of course, this is the first time in ten years that I have been able to stay consistent with the exercising. Thanks to Adam sponsoring me for Team Zen, I’ve lost about ten pounds in the past two months - hopefully with many, many more after that. It kind of sucks that I wasn’t picked to be a part of Club Chronicle (because they get free shoes), although I think my chances would have been better if I had actually applied.

I love sports, and it probably gets in the way of me having a productive life. I read too many sports sites - well, too many sites - but I’ve been trying to fix that. This summer, I had about 220 feeds in my Google Reader, but I’ve since pared it down to about 150 now. That’s still a lot, but it’s hard to let these go. Anyway, my teams are the Yankees, the Mavericks, the Cowboys, the Longhorns and Arsenal. Probably in that order, although Arsenal figures to pass the Longhorns on my scale pretty soon.

I’m tired. More tomorrow.
